Abstract
The study utilized experimental research design in assessing the inhibitory properties of streptococcus thermophilus against Candida albicans. Purposive sampling technique was chosen as sampling technique. Biofilm produced by Candida albicans were confirmed using Crystal violet assay. Scanning electron microscope was used in order to visualize and analyzed the tooth surface, which has the biofilm formation of C. albicans. The study concluded that the use of Streptococcus thermophilus as an inhibiting organism is not effective in preventing the biofilm formation of Candida albicans.
