Abstract
The researchers obtained serum from the DLSUMC, DAsmarinas City Cavite, along with their respective FBS result. Testing of leptin levels were identified by the use of Mercodia Human Leptin ELIA kit. Usin gPearson's correlation, the association between the variable was -0.12 with a computed p-value of 0.304. For the diagnostic capacity of leptin, area under the curve or accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, NPV, PPV and LR were measured that resulted to different blood leptin cut-off scores in diagnosing diabetic and pre-diabetic patients. In all of cut-off scores, it can be noted that none of the diabetic and pre-diabetic patients achieved an AUC of at least 0.80. The study concluded that there is no statistically significant relationship between blood leptin and fasting blood sugar of the respondents.
