Abstract
This research employed an experimental research design wherein it utilized a systematic and scientific approach in collecting Kappaphycus alvarezii samples and tested them with the eployed methods to observe the effectiveness which is focused on gathering numerical data and using it to explain a reliable result. The researchers used broth macrodilution, disk diffusion method and pour plate method. The results showed that there is no zone of inhibition of Kappaphycus alvarezii extract against Stenotrophomonas maltophilia and in terms of broth macrodilution all test tube were turbid. Determination of minimum bactericidal concentration is not performed. The study concluded that the Kappaphycus alvarezii extract with different concentations did not inhibit Stenotrophomonas maltophilia. Phytochemical contents like carbohydrates, flavonoids and glycosides were not potent to inhibit the growth of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia.
