Abstract
Modified microdilution assay was used for the evaluation of the synergistic effect between piperacillin-Tazobactam and prenol-rich maple syrup inhibition of pseudomonas aeruginosa. The results of the study found out that the MIC of the piperacillin-tazobactam against the clinical isolate of P. aeruginosa is 0.13 mg/100 mL which is located on the 4th well of the microtiter plate. On the other hand, there is an inhibitory effect on piperacillin-tazobactam enhanced with penol-rich maple syrup shown on the A1 well of the 50%, 60% and 70% mixture of phenol-rich maple syrup. The study concluded that the piperacillin-tazobactam was able to inhibit pseudomonas aeruginosa and there is a synergistic mixture between piperacillin-tazobactam and phenol-rich maple syrup.
