Abstract

YouTube is largely used by parents, especially, to provide entertainment for their children and improve their knowledge at the same time. While most parents perceive YouTube as an effective learning tool, numerous studies associate media viewing with harmful effects such as inactivity, cognitive and developmental delays, and attentional problems. The purpose of this study is to determine the parents’ perception of the influence of children’s educational YouTube videos on the changes and outcomes in their children’s skills and capabilities. Additionally, this study aims to measure the parents’ and their children’s awareness of internet security practices. This research used a non-experimental, self-made questionnaire to provide a quantitative reflection of the assessment.
