Abstract

The researchers conducted a nonexperimental quantitative study for the testing of physical and chemical components. The parameters used in the study refers to Turbidity, Odor, pH, Total dissolved solids and Total hardness. The results of the study implied that the values from each parameter were within the set standard limit of Philippine National Standard for Drinking Water (PNSDW) and United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA). The results of the physical parameters, Turbidity ranges from 0.10-0.21 NTU whereas the Total Dissolved solids have values ranging from 312-322 mg/L. The odor parameter was classified as unobjectionable. The chemical parameters, pH value ranges from 7.02-7.41 which signifies that the water samples from drinking fountains were alkaline. The Total hardness parameter have values range from 165-167 mg/L which correlates the limit of PNSDW. However, it is not applicable in the US EPA as there were no basis included from the set standard. The researchers concluded that the water samples from drinking fountains located at the institution were safe in drinking consumption.
