Detection and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus in processed meats sold in selected markets in Dasmariñas, Cavite

Abstract

This study will focus on different processed meats in different places in Cavite. The study is mainly about the detection of Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus on the different processed meats selected. The detection of the bacteria will only be the main focus of the study. The study will not be covered by the other types of Staphylococcus aureus. The data collection will be conducted to two selected brands with two types of processed meats, specifically footlong and longganisa, and will only be bought in markets located in Dasmariñas, Cavite. The study would be done through the process of biochemical testing which will be done by Department of Science and Technology in Region IV-A. By the results of the tests, the researchers will be able to detect the presence and prevalence of the bacteria Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus. This study will be done from the month of February to March 2020 for 3 trials.
