Abstract

This study focuses on drug repurposing of Tempra and Robitussin as an antibacterial against E. coli and S. aureus. This determines bacterial growth rate of the bacteria when treated with different concentrations of the combined Tempra and Robitussin. Data collection will be conducted on the laboratory of Angelo King Research Center in Dasmarinas City, Cavite. This will not cover any other bacteria aside from the one stated and will not cover strains of the given bacteria that shows resistance to drugs but this research shows the potential of over the counter drugs such as Tempra and Robitussin against resistant E. coli and S. aureus given that the non- resistant strains were killed. Parameters of this study was to determine whether non-resistant strains of E. coli and S. aureus will be susceptible to Tempra and Robitussin, excluding the chemical level as to how it happened.
