Abstract

The researchers will be conducting the study within the premises of De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute with the given allotted time throughout the whole academic year. The study will mainly focus on determining the larvicidal effect of Ocimum basilicum leaf extract against Aedes aegypti. It aims to know whether the Ocimum basilicum (basil) leaf extract will have a significant effect against Aedes aegypti larvae and if there is a significant difference between the effects of the different concentrations of Ocimum basilicum (basil) leaf extract as a natural-based larvicide. The study will also determine if there Is there any significant difference between the effects of the Ocimum basilicum (basil) leaf extract as a natural-based larvicide and the commercially-available larvicide in terms of the mortality rate of Aedes aegypti.
