Abstract

This study used descriptive survey and documentary analysis of data. The respondents were 22 College of Medical Radiation Technology students who committed minor and major offenses selected using purposive sampling technique. Data was gathered using a questionnaire checklist and analyzed using percentage, frequency, mean and Pearson r. The study concluded that, (1) The highest frequency of violation by factor is ignorance of school policies among individual factors, want to prove something among the social factors, lack of guidance/communication with parent among the family factors, lack of/miscommunication between teacher and student among the teacher factors and stringent (strict) school policies/rules; 2) For minor offenses, most of the violations committed by the respondents were entering the campus without wearing the prescribed uniform and improper wearing of ID. Major offenses included using someone else’s ID/registration form, deliberate disruption of any university activities, smoking, act of gross disrespect and stealing; 3) The relationship between the factors and violations committed had moderately small negative correlation. The factors did not affect the violations committed much.
