Abstract

This study used a descriptive survey research design using purposive sampling technique. Respondents included 252 third year students of the College of Medical Imaging and Therapy (CMIT), College of Rehabilitation Sciences (CRS), College of Nursing (CN), College of Medical Laboratory Science (CMLS), College of Humanities and Sciences (CHS), and College of Pharmacy (CP), of De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute. A self-made questionnaire was used. The data gathered were subjected to statistical treatment such as frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and Duncan’s multiple range test. Based on the findings of the study, the researchers concluded that: 1) Most of the respondents are female, have a monthly family income of Php 100,000 to Php 249,999, regular students, and are from the College of Rehabiliation Sciences (CRS); 2) Overall, the respondents’ assessment of the learning environment of De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute is rated as very satisfactory; 3) There is no significant differences in the respondents’ assessment of the learning environment of De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute when grouped according to sex, student type, and college affiliation. However, there is a significant difference in the respondents’assessment of the learning environment of De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute found in the monthly family income groups of Php 100,000 to Php 249,999 and Php 250,000 and above. Wherein the monthly family income group of Php 100,000 to Php 249,999 have a significantly higher assessment compared to the monthly family income group of Php 250,000 and above.
