Out of the 24 barangays, 104 employers were randomly surveyed. However, only 70 employers were successfully surveyed. Seventeen (17) of them are willing to accommodate the said individuals. It was then noted that from the 17 employers surveyed, there are 36 available jobs offered to persons with intellectual disabilities. With that, the ratio of post OT intervened persons with intellectual disabilities to the number of employment opportunities was determined. Results showed that the ratio is 1:2. After a thorough study, the researchers therefore conclude that the employment opportunity for persons with intellectual disabilities is low. Continued research is necessary to identify best practices.
