Abstract

The study used a non-experimental, descriptive type of method. The respondents of the study were composed of 118 Grade 3 pupils of Vicente P. Villanueva Memorial School, Dasmarinas, School Year 2008-2009, both male and female, from a family with either both parents are employed or unemployed or only one parent is employed, and if with or without head lice. The respondents were selected using purposive sampling. The research instrument used was a self-made checklist type of questionnaire. In the analysis of the data gathered, frequency distribution, mean, t-test and f-test or ANOVA were used. The study concluded that; 1) Majority of the Grade 3 pupils in Vicente P. Villanueva Memorial School, Dasmarinas, Cavite were male, their parents were both employed, and they were negative of head lice; 2) Majority have an average level of knowledge regarding Pediculosis capitis; 3) There are no significant differences on the level of knowledge regarding Pediculosis capitis among Grade 3 pupils of Vicenter P. Villanueva Memorial School, Dasmarinas, Cavite when grouped according to gender, employment status of parents and presence of head lice.
