Abstract

The type of research design used in this study is descriptive, non-experimental method. The respondents were selected using convenience sampling technique. A self-made, modified and adapted questionnaire was used in data gathering. The statistical tests in the study are frequency distribution, mean and analysis of variance. The study concluded that, 1) Majority of the respondents are female, residing at their home, Catholic, and with a monthly family income of P40,001 and above; 2) The study on the coping mechanisms of Batch 2012 nursing students of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute is high. This means that the respondents use and have the same coping mechanisms whenever they experience a crisis in their academic performance; 3) The coping mechanism of Batch 2012 nursing students of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute is affected by their gender, religion, residence and monthly family income.
