Abstract

This study was conducted at De La Salle Health Sciences Institute and De La Salle University Medical Center - Dasmarinas, Cavite. The descriptive-correlational method was used in this study. The respondents included are alumni of the College of Nursing specifically BSN Batch 2010-2012 who passed their nursing licensure examination. The research was non-experimental, descriptive type of research and facilitated the use of existing records. Based on the findings, the research concluded that (1) the academic performance in high school of the respondents falls under the "very satisfactory" classification since most of their grades ranged from 89%-93%; (2) the academic performance in college of DLSHSI nursing graduates batches 2010-2012 falls under the good classification since most of their grades ranged from 86%-88%; (3) the nurse licensure examination results of DLSHSI nursing graduates batches 2010-2012 falls under the "fair" classification since most of their grades ranged from 79%-80%; (4) high school GPA is a good predictor of student's academic performance in college; (5) college GPA is a reliable determinant of student's performance in the nurse licensure examination.
