Abstract

This study aims to assess the levels of knowledge and awareness of Neisseria gonorrhoeae (Gonorrhea) among employees of a selected Business Process Outsourcing company. It seeks to determine if there is a significant difference between their levels of knowledge and awareness and their demographic profiles, and to identify whether there is a significant relationship between their level of knowledge and their level of awareness regarding N. gonorrhoeae. The study used a quantitative cross-sectional research design for its methodology and adapted a questionnaire, making modifications to better align the study’s objectives. Multiple statistical treatments were utilized, including frequency and percentage distribution, mean, standard deviation, independent ttest, one-way ANOVA test, Tukey test, and chi-square analysis. The findings revealed that the majority of respondents were aged between 18 and 28 years old, predominantly female, and had either an undergraduate level of education or had obtained a Bachelor’s degree as their highest attainment. Overall, respondents demonstrated a moderate level of knowledge and awareness regarding Neisseria gonorrhoeae (Gonorrhea). Analysis revealed no significant difference between the level of knowledge and awareness and respondents' demographic profiles. Moreover, a significant relationship was observed between respondents' levels of knowledge and awareness.
